Masahiro Torii is a teacher at Nagasaki Prefectural Nagasaki Higashi High School in Japan and Manager of the World Wide Learning (WWL) Promotion Office. His work focuses on inquiry-based learning, digital education, global education, and student-led collaborative projects. Among his initiatives, he leads the RE:Earth Project, which encourages students to use digital technologies to collaborate and contribute to a better future.

Re:Earth is an open-source geospatial data platform.
High school students in Hiroshima have used Re:Earth for initiatives related to peace and inquiry-based education.
In this session, held in conjunction with FOSS4G Hiroshima, the students will introduce their own initiatives and what they learned.
