This workshop will demonstrate how easy setting up web based services with an integrated map component can be. Participants will build a website with local tourist attractions and a map component from Oskari.


Oskari (www.oskari.org and www.github.com/oskariorg) is an open source map application platform with a growing community. This workshop will demonstrate how easy setting up web based services with an integrated map component can be. Participants of this workshop will learn hands-on how to utilize Oskari embedded maps with the RPC API by building a website with local tourist attractions and a map component from Oskari. Basic understanding about HTML/JavaScript is good to have but not mandatory to complete the workshop.

Senior GIS Expert with 10 years of experience in geospatial solutions and before that 8 years in IT-administration and IT-support. Interested in data visualisation, interoperability and usability among other things.
