Field data collection using Input app, QGIS and Mergin
08-23, 09:00–13:00 (Europe/Rome), 202

Using open source software, users will be able to collect data from their mobile devices collaboratively with other participants and bring the data back in QGIS.

Input app is a free and open source app for Android and iOS based on QGIS which allows users to take their QGIS project/data in the field and then capture/edit data. The data then seamlessly synchronised to their desktop using the Mergin service.

With Mergin service, users can also see the history of changes to the data and share their projects with other users to collaborate.

I first realised the benefits of GIS when working with various engineering consultancies to deliver flood risk mapping for the UK Environment Agency. I've now been specialising in GIS solutions including web mapping, geodatabases and desktop GIS for more than 10 years.

We founded Lutra Consulting to support organisations looking to adopt open source GIS. Our services include planning and implementing migrations, training and ongoing commercial support.
