08-22, 09:00–13:00 (Europe/Rome), 202
GeoNetwork opensource is a fully featured catalog service and the most popular INSPIRE catalog in Europe. This workshop provides hands-on experience setting up GeoNetwork, using INSPIRE requirements as a guideline to explore configuration.
The GeoNetwork INSPIRE workshop is a great introduction to GeoNetwork and provides a gentle introduction to metadata and spatial data infrastructure.
GeoCat will provide a cloud hosted catalog for attendees (so only a browser is required to attend). If you are comfortable with Docker you are welcome to run the GeoNetwork Docker image locally (but this is not required).
The workshop will:
- Demonstrate installation, and answer your questions on deployment.
- Hands-on setup your new catalog; taking the time to explain INSPIRE guidance and to configure your catalog appropriately.
- Harvesting to jump start the contents of your new catalog. If you have existing web services you are responsible for please make use of them during the workshop.
While Europe and INSPIRE are used for guidance this workshop is a good introduction for attendees from any region.

I am a lead developer and PSC member of the project GeoNetwork opensource, a catalog of geospatial metadata.
