This workshop introduces the various classic OGC services, their structure and capabiliites,
using GeoServer own implementation as a practical, hands-on example.
This training will provide the attendees with an in-depth introduction to OGC services implementation with GeoServer covering advanced topics like:
- Introduction to the Web Map Service protocol, or how to display maps in a client, the OGC way.
- Introduction to the Web Feature Service protocol, with example of data download, filtering and transaction.
- Introduction to the Web Coverage Service protocol, with examples on how to extract raster subsets
- Introduction to Web Processing Service and Rendering Transformations, or how to process data the OGC way.
At the end of the training the attendee will have extensive knowledge of advanced OGC services and standards like WMS, WFS, WCS and WPS.
Open source enthusiast with strong experience in Java development and GIS. Personal interest range from high performance software, managing large data volumes, software testing and quality, spatial data analysis algorithms, map rendering.
Full time open source developer on GeoServer and GeoTools.
