DESCRIPTION:One of the areas in which QGIS has developed the most in recent
years is the support of point cloud data. There are now many options for
displaying point clouds in both 2D and 3D and in the elevation profile pan
el. There are also many tools for processing point clouds. It is now even
possible to edit point cloud attributes.\nThis comprehensive workshop will
teach you how to work with point cloud data in QGIS. You will learn how t
o style point clouds to highlight important features\, and process and edi
t them to extract meaningful information. The workshop you’ll learn to:\
n* Load and display point clouds in 2D.\n* Explore point clouds using Elev
ation profiles.\n* View point clouds in 3D.\n* Create Virtual Point Clouds
(VPCs).\n* Use Point Cloud Processing Tools to filter\, convert and analy
ze point cloud datasets.\n* Edit Point Cloud attributes.\n* Use PDAL Wrenc
h\n\nSoftware:\nTo get the most out of this workshop you are encouraged to
install QGIS (v 4.x). There are several important enhancements and new pr
ocessing tools for working with point clouds which are included with the r
elease of QGIS 4. \n\nNote 1: If you will be using a corporate laptop wher
e permissions can be problematic\, consider getting these installations co
mpleted with IT before you travel to the conference.\n\nNote 2: It is rec
ommended that you also bring a tablet. There is an accompanying step-by-st
ep tutorial. Having a tablet will allow you to read the tutorial on your t
ablet while working on your laptop.\n\nData\nWe will provide the data for
 the workshop.
