DESCRIPTION:<p>\n At <strong>BRGM (the French Geological Survey)</strong>\
, transitioning from field observations to high-quality published maps req
uires a seamless digital workflow. This presentation explores how we lever
age the synergy between <strong>QField and QGIS</strong> to build an integ
 rated\, industrial-scale production line for geological data.\n</p>\n\n<p>
We will break down our specialized workflow into three strategic phases:</
 p>\n\n<ul>\n <li>\n <strong>1. Upstream Preparation (QGIS to QField):<
/strong> How we prepare complex field projects by integrating multi-source
data (satellite imagery\, geophysics\, legacy vectors) and configuring ad
vanced QField forms (drag-and-drop layouts\, 1-N relations\, and lookup re
 gisters) to ensure structured data entry.\n </li>\n <li>\n <strong>2.
Field Acquisition (QField):</strong> Utilizing rugged tablets to capture
geological features <em>in situ</em>\, ensuring data consistency and topol
ogical integrity right at the outcrop.\n </li>\n <li>\n <strong>3. Do
wnstream Production (QGIS & Custom Plugins):</strong> Beyond standard GIS
tasks\, we will showcase our <strong>internal suite of Python plugins</str
ong>. These tools automate post-processing and final cartographic renderin
g according to BRGM’s rigorous scientific standards\, transforming raw S
IG layers into professional map products.\n </li>\n</ul>\n\n<p>\n By sha
ring our experience\, we aim to demonstrate how this 100% Open Source ecos
ystem—enhanced by bespoke development—not only reduces data entry erro
rs but also significantly accelerates the timeline from <strong>"rock to m
 ap."</strong>\n</p>
