Presentation of Two QGIS Roles - QGIS Documentation Writer and QGIS Full Stack Web Developer

This talk will spotlight two roles within the QGIS community: the QGIS Documentation Writer and the QGIS Full Stack Web Developer. We'll delve into the significance of maintaining the project's related websites and keeping documentation current. Through insights into our daily workflows and the challenges we've tackled, attendees will gain a deeper understanding of these critical tasks. We aim to foster greater community engagement and emphasize the value of participation in advancing the QGIS project.

Lova is a passionate Web GIS Developer based in Antananarivo, Madagascar. He thrives on blending the power of open-source technologies with his creative mapping skills. With a strong foundation in self-taught GIS expertise, Lova has dedicated himself to developing dynamic web-based GIS applications and crafting visually captivating maps using QGIS. Complementing his GIS skills, Lova is well-versed in web development. He harnesses the power of Python, Django, and JavaScript to create robust web-based GIS applications that provide users with seamless access to spatial data and interactive. He is specialized in leveraging these capabilities as decisive tools in humanitarian initiatives, reflecting a commitment to driving positive change through innovative geospatial strategies. Beyond his digital world, Lova is an avid hiker. He finds solace in exploring the great outdoors, which not only recharges his creativity but also deepens his understanding of the landscapes he represents in his maps.

Selma, originally from Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, pursued her academic journey in Geography and Urban Planning at the Faculty of Science, University of Sarajevo. Growing up surrounded by nature, she developed a profound interest in Geography, ultimately leading her to advocate for environmental preservation and sustainable urban development, making Urban Planning a natural fit for her aspirations.

During her university years, Selma delved into Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and discovered her passion for cartography. With six years of experience in the GIS field, she has honed her skills and expertise. In June 2023, Selma began her role as a QGIS documentation writer, further solidifying her commitment to contributing to the QGIS community and disseminating knowledge about open-source GIS technologies.

Her primary focus is leveraging these technologies to contribute to global initiatives aimed at fostering a positive impact on the environment.
