DESCRIPTION:An important step in FOSS development is checking what your nei
ghbours are doing. For generic geo-software\, we usually do that and share
what we have (or know). But for our Spatial Data Infrastructures\, things
tend to get more complicated. However\, there is a lot to be gained by ju
st getting some first hand experience in what the colleagues in other coun
tries are working on (this is one of the reasons I love the FOSS4G events\
, and have been visiting both the international and local ones in other co
untries before).\n\nIn this presentation\, I will share some of the Dutch
government (both regional and national) projects that contribute greatly t
o our national SDI\, and might be usable in the UK context as well. One of
those is undoubtedly the PDOK (Publieke Dienstverlening Op de Kaart or Pu
blic Services On the Map) initiative which is closely related to (but not
exactly the same as) our national data portal\, and the integration that m
akes it easily accessible in QGIS (becoming by far the most downloaded QGI
S plugin in the NL). Others include the combined 3D-initiatives that are n
 ow taking place.
