DESCRIPTION:One of the Open Source advantages is the ease of combining tool
 s that perhaps initially were quite separate. In this workshop you will le
 arn the various ways that QGIS and R can work together to apply statistica
 l methods to your GIS or add GIS methods to your statistics.\n\nAfter an i
 ntroduction into how these two systems can integrate on different levels\,
  we'll demonstrate the packages and plugins that allow users to quickly wo
 rk across the two applications. This includes running QGIS processing algo
 rithms from R\, and calling R code from QGIS\, making the workshop useful 
 for people who consider themselves primarily either QGIS users or R users.
 \n\nA number of practical exercises will be prepared for attendees to work
  through with help and guidance. \n\nFor those who don't know any R\, or e
 ven have never used it\, exercises will include complete R code files whic
 h we'll show how to add to QGIS to enhance its processing capabilities.\n\
 nFor R coders\, exercises will also cover the R `qgisprocess` package enab
 ling QGIS algorithms to run from R\, and also the R Console plugin which r
 uns R within a QGIS window.\n\nAttendees are encouraged to bring their own
  data and problems which we can either work through as a class or one-to-o
 ne with the workshop team.
