DESCRIPTION:Across the world\, millions of people remain “missing” from
  the maps that shape decision-making\, emergency response\, and resource a
 llocation. This workshop introduces participants to the Missing Maps initi
 ative and explores how open\, collaborative mapping can help address these
  data gaps and support vulnerable communities.\nThrough a hands-on session
 \, attendees will learn the fundamentals of mapping using OpenStreetMap (O
 SM). While a range of features can be mapped\, including buildings\, roads
 \, and other key infrastructure\, the workshop will focus on building digi
 tisation\, as this is typically the most accessible entry point for beginn
 ers.\nDesigned for both beginners and those with GIS experience\, the sess
 ion provides a practical opportunity to contribute meaningful data while g
 aining insight into the broader role of geospatial information in global d
 evelopment. Participants will leave with the skills and confidence to cont
 inue mapping independently.
