DESCRIPTION:What can the history of computer chess teach us about the futur
e of geospatial development? As AI fundamentally alters how we develop GIS
software\, write spatial algorithms\, process imagery\, and automate work
flows\, our community is currently struggling with existential and practic
al questions that the chess world has been navigating for decades. By look
ing at how chess players adapted to\, survived\, and ultimately thrived al
ongside super-intelligent machines\, this session discusses options for FO
SS4G professionals looking to navigate the new rules of the GIS game in th
 e age of AI.

DESCRIPTION:Mergin Maps is a powerful field data collection app that lets y
ou work collaboratively and take your QGIS projects into the field on your
mobile device. But did you know that Mergin Maps is also making it easy t
o publish your QGIS projects on the web and share them with anyone? We've
recently added new features that let users share their projects with other
s easily with a link to a web map or embed your project on a website with
a generated code snippet you can copy and paste into the HTML of your webs
ite.\n\nIn this workshop\, users will learn how easy it is to create a pro
ject in QGIS and upload it to the Mergin Maps Cloud. Then we'll collect so
me data\, publish it and view it on a web page\, all in under one hour!
