DESCRIPTION:Maps are stories. But too often\, critical places and entire co
mmunities are missing from the map and their stories are not told. At the
Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOT)\, we envision an ecosystem of open m
apping technology that enables everyone\, and in particular vulnerable com
munities\, to make open map data available in order to use in disaster res
ponse and humanitarian context. \n\nIn this talk\, I would like to take y
ou on a journey in introducing the full end-to-end open mapping workflow a
nd the open source tools enabling that process - from the Drone Tasking M
anager \, Open Aerial Map to fAIr\, Field Tasking Manager\, ChatMap and uM
ap. I will share the stories where the end to end mapping workflow has bee
n used in Indonesia\, Sierra Leone and more recently in response to the ea
rthquake in Venezuela.\n\nWe hope that you will leave this talk inspired a
nd with an understanding on how YOU can interact with the open mapping too
ls and create your own story!
