This 3 hour workshop looking at QGIS from a different angle. This class is aimed at people who haven't used QGIS much BUT want to get up to speed while being entertained by Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy Quotes.
This 3 hour workshop is designed to introduce you to QGIS 3.44 (Current Long Term Release), an Open Source GIS software for viewing, editing, and managing spatial data in a wide variety of commonly used vector and raster formats. It is lightweight, flexible, and can be installed on Windows, MacOSX, and Linux. By the end of the class students should be able to install QGIS, display data, understand data formats, and create a map.
Randal Hale is owner operator of North River Geographic Systems, Inc. He’s been in the Geospatial Industry for far too long. He also hates talking in the third person. He’s currently on the board for a few organizations around the US (TNGIC, OSGEO US, and QGIS US). In my spare time I tend to go canoeing, possibly map something in OpenStreetMap, or go for increasingly long walks. We should go canoeing sometime.
