Nico got his start in cartography and GIS as a geography student intern making illustration maps for Adventure Cycling Association in Missoula Montana and in Arc/Info 6 at the Wildlife Spatial Analysis Lab at University of Montana.
He pursued archaeology in graduate school with a focus on geospatial approaches. He has been using primarily open source GIS since 2018
