Quick review of new features and improvements in the PostGIS spatial database and surrounding libraries.


PostGIS releases once a year, and each year brings a few notable new features or enhancements. The projects surrounding PostGIS, like GEOS, Proj, and PostgreSQL are also advancing, and this talk will highlight notable new features in those projects too.

Paul Ramsey co-founded PostGIS in 2001, and has been developing and promoting open source geospatial software solutions ever since. He currently works as a Executive Engineer for Crunchy Data, supporting their many customers and continuing to improve PostGIS and other associated projects.
