For those new to PostGIS, a fast paced review of what spatial SQL and PostGIS can do.
There are hundreds of PostGIS functions, and thousands of PostGIS users, and this talk will attempt to summarize them all in under 30 minutes (impossible!). Key functions, architectures, deployment options, use cases, users, developers, dependencies, this talk could cover 4 hours but will improbably end in just 30 minutes.
Paul Ramsey co-founded PostGIS in 2001, and has been developing and promoting open source geospatial software solutions ever since. He currently works as a Executive Engineer for Crunchy Data, supporting their many customers and continuing to improve PostGIS and other associated projects.
