In Estonia most of the internal security organisations and their applications use our GIS services (IT support is offered by SMIT) which are provided with the help of FOSS geospatial software. In 5 minutes I will showcase with user stories how open source software is helping saving lives, property and environment. I give overview of the services and softwares that makes it happen. For example MapServer, Openlayers etc.
Currently working at IT and Development Centre at the Estonian Ministry of the Interior (SMIT) as GIS services Product Owner. Most of our services are provided with the help of open source GIS software.
