DESCRIPTION:The Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem provides open access to the
  petabyte-scale EO data repository and to a wide range of tools and servic
 es\, limited to some predefined quoatas. For users who would like to devel
 op commercial services or for those who would like to have larger quotas/u
 nlimited access to services the offer of CREODIAS platform is the solution
 . In this study an example of such a (pre)commercial service will be prese
 nted which publishes Copernicus Sentinel-1 and Sentinel-2 products (and se
 lected assets) in the form of a WMS (Web Map Service) and WCS (Web Coverag
 e Service). The architecture of the services based on the Kubernetes clust
 er allows horizontal scaling of a service along with a number of users req
 uests. The WMS/WCS services to be presented combine data discovery\, acces
 s\, (pre)-processing\, publishing (rendering) and dissemination capabiliti
 es available within a single RESTful (Representational state transfer) que
 ry. This gives a user great flexibility in terms of on-the-fly data extrac
 tion across a specific AOI (Area Of Interest)\, mosaicing\, reprojection\,
  simple band processing (cloud masking\, normalized difference vegetation)
 \, rendering. The performance of the Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem and C
 REODIAS platform combined with the efficient software (Postgres 16 with Po
 stGIS extension\, MapServer with GDAL backend) allows to achieve WMS/WCS s
 ervice response time below 1 second on average. This in turn\, gives a pot
 ential for massive parallelization of the computations given the horizonta
 l scaling of the Kubernetes cluster. The work demonstrates the capabilitie
 s of European data processed using open software deployed on European clou
 d-based Ecosystem in form of CDSE.

DESCRIPTION:Cloudferro’s repository contains nearly 67 Pb of EO data. So 
 far\, there wasn’t any service providing\neasy access to data basing on 
 OGC standards. For the past year\, there was put work on creating a\nWebMa
 pService (WMS)\, specifically for European satellite missions - Sentinel -
 2 and Sentinel-1. In\nresult\, company developed a vast OGC services\, bas
 ed on analysis ready original Sentinel data stored\nin Cloudferro’s repo
 sitory\, which serves as a official ESA storage. Although the services are
  here\, there\nis also a need for a tool enabling users to use those servi
 ces.\nThis paper presents the tool\, which uses those services and works a
 s a framework for potential users\nin form of a QGIS plugin. Although web 
 services are based on OGC standards and this allows majority\nof GIS softw
 are establish connection with them\, it’s still unintuitive to build and
  use raw URL request.\nQGIS plugin provides a simple GUI to construct all 
 necessary requests in a simple and fast way. Thanks\nto that\, users can s
 tart work with EO data in a simple and comfortable manner. This plugin not
  only\nserves as a display tool\, but also provide functions for analysis 
 and download of Sentinel-1 and\nSentinel-2 images thanks to WebCoverageSer
 vice (WCS). On the other hand\, thanks to usage of\nVirtual Rasters (VRT)\
 , displayed data can be analysed on demand i.e.: mask all clouds in Sentin
 el-2\ntrue colour images.\nThe biggest advantage of this solution is an ea
 sy access to original\, not processed Sentinel data\,\nwhich are obtained 
 every day. Since plugin can provide both display and download capabilities
 \, this\ntool seems perfect for small processing tasks done by students on
  vast universities. By this\, those\nstudents could easily get in touch wi
 th Sentinel data and enlarge European EO community.
