This presentation introduces a development plan for a web-based map application for "Watashitachi no Hiroshima (Our Hiroshima)", a supplementary social studies textbook for regional studies that has been used in elementary schools in Hiroshima City for over 50 years.
Chugoku Syoten is the company has published "Watashitachi no Hiroshima (Our Hiroshima)", a supplementary social studies textbook used for regional studies in the third and fourth grades of elementary schools in Hiroshima City for more than 50 years, together with a paper map designed for use with the textbook.
This presentation introduces a development plan for an open-source–based web map application designed for use with the textbook. The application is being developed as a future alternative to the accompanying paper map and aims to support regional learning through interactive web-based mapping.

For more than 50 years, the company has published "Watashitachi no Hiroshima (Our Hiroshima)", a supplementary social studies textbook used for regional studies in the third and fourth grades of elementary schools in Hiroshima City.
Although in-store sales of paper maps—including those published by Geospatial Information Authority of Japan—were discontinued in 2017, the publication of educational cartographic materials remains a core activity of the company.
