Working on geospatial software is amazing - a real understand and change the world. Working on free and open source geospatial software is even better - putting that power in the hands of so many people is inspiring and amazing.
Drawing on experience from foss4g conferences, open source projects, multiple software foundations, and some great employers - I would like to share a bit of what I have learned.
This keynote will provide a little bit of amusement, some fun photos, entertaining challenges that have been overcome, and ideas for what is next.
Jody Garnett is an open source developer and advocate working with GeoCat Canada. He has over 20 years experience consulting, training, building solutions, and guiding technology development. Jody is on the steering committee for the GeoServer, GeoTools, and JTS Topology Suite projects, and volunteers as chair of the OSGeo Incubation Committee.
